Greggs Foundation & Hope’s story
'‘Greggs Foundation wanted to engage our breakfast club schools in a literacy piece of work to give our mascot Hope a back story and to help us recognise the 20 years of running the Breakfast Club programme.
We were lucky enough to get the support of Nicola who not only helped us draw up the original brief to schools and make sure we were supporting the school curriculum, but Nicola then helped guide us through judging the hundreds of stories we received and made sure we considered the sometimes hidden words within the stories.
The story we selected as our winner was completely pulled to life through Nicola’s drawings without losing the deep sentiment of the story written by a 10-year-old.
Her understanding and empathy of the writing was fantastic and to see the young girls face as she saw her story brought to life will remain with me. The Greggs Foundation is hugely grateful to Nicola for her support on this project.”
